About the Collection

This art collection explores the stillness of the human body as a powerful vessel for emotional expression, with a focus on the raw and universal experience of grief. Through striking paintings, it invites viewers to connect deeply with the beauty and complexity of loss and love.

The Story...

Art has a way of telling stories words can't capture. World on Fire is a collision of grief, love, anger and growth, showing a path forward out of the chaos.

It is an exploration of the complexity of anger tangled with grief - an inarticulate feeling of chaos. Channeling my own experience of anger and loss, I poured those feelings into the painting, creating something unexpected...

As I started this painting, the layers of anger started to manifest in ways I didn’t anticipate. Flames rose from the bottom, engulfing everything, twisting into the shape of a heart—a collision of love and rage.

Then came the swirls.

At first, I didn’t think much of them. They appeared almost unconsciously, and I let them. But as the painting evolved, I realised these swirling patterns resembled symbols of Life, Death, and Rebirth. They became a silent language within the piece—an acknowledgment of how life changes after a loss and was now reshaping itself.

The flames, remain the heart of this piece. Rising up, pulling at these symbols, representing change and the things in life we cherish.

But out of the flames, the swirls tell a different story - one of finding hope and a path forward even in the darkness.

Whilst this painting was initially about anger, it’s also about everything that comes with it - the collision of love, grief, and growth. It’s a reminder that even in the flames, there’s a way through. And if you’re someone wrestling with anger after loss, I want you to know: you’re not alone. Keep looking for the symbols that help you move forward. They’re there, waiting to be found.
