About Artist

Hello! If we haven't met yet, I’m Jess.
I am a self-taught artist based in the UK. For me, art is a powerful form of expression. I enjoy creating unique pieces that reflect and combine my artistic passions of painting, poetry and music. My style is diverse, ranging from realistic to energetic, with my work focusing on how emotions manifest in the body.
In 2023, I made the leap from a corporate career to fully pursue my passion for art. My corporate background is rooted in Psychology, and while I’ve dedicated much of my career to helping people in the workplace, I now channel that desire to support others through art.
A pivotal reason for this transition was my experience with grief, after losing my dad to cancer when I was 19. For a long time, grief blocked my creativity. But now, it is a source of inspiration, fuelling my artistic journey.
Through my work, I challenge myself to explore a wide range of emotions - even uncomfortable ones. Each piece informs and inspires the next, creating a unique narrative that resonates with others. By weaving together art, poetry, and music, I aim to capture not just the visible expressions of emotions, but the intricate layers beneath the surface, those we hide from ourselves and others.
My collections are inspired by my personal experiences and psychological concepts. In my paintings, I predominately use acrylic paint and mediums, utilising both brushes and palette knives to create rich textures and dynamic marks. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of traditional painting techniques and artistic expression, creating pieces with depth, meaning, and movement. These paintings inspire the accompanying poetry and music, allowing for hidden meanings behind the visuals to be communicated in multiple ways.
My goal is to blend my love for helping others with my passion for art - to foster healing not just for myself, but also to create opportunities for reflection, connection, and compassion for others and the world around us.
Through all my work, I strive to push myself creatively, to be brave, and to share my authentic self with the world. I hope my art inspires you to do the same.
